NMU falls to top-ranked RedHawks
The Northern Michigan hockey team fell in back-to-back games last weekend to the No. 1 Miami RedHawks, 9-2 and 3-2.
After the blowout on Friday night, the Wildcats came out on Saturday and jumped out to a 2-0 first-period lead. The RedHawks managed three unanswered power play goals in the final 40 minutes, though, and won going away.…

Cross country team fails to qualify for NCAAs in last run of 2007 season
The NMU cross country team finished in fifth place at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional competition on Nov. 3, narrowly missing the NCAA national championship.
The team finished with a score of 197 which was 46 points behind fourth place Southern Indiana. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, only the top four teams advance to the national championships.…

The NMU women's basketball team warmed up for their season on Nov. 3, with a 71-45 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

In what some are calling "The Fight of the Year,'' former United States Olympic Education Center (USOEC) boxer and NMU student Jaidon Codrington, fell to Sakio Bika in the eighth round of the season finale of ESPN's "The Contender".

Over the weekend, NMU student and professional snowboarder Ian Thorley dealt with the 70-degree West coast heat and took fifth in the esurance ICER AIR competition in San Francisco's AT&T Park.
